Ambition. A little bit goes a long way.

It isn’t necessary bad to be ambitious and have aspirations of your future. Or about life in General. It just needs to be managed correctly, as ambition can easily get out of hand. and spiral downwards and out of control .

this can be a excellent trait. althrough having Ambition can easily go astray. As shown in various texts from driffent time periods. Which shows that ambition isnt a new thing. Macbeth showed us that being over-ambitious can become your very own downfall but it doesnt have to be. Ambition is universal it fetaures in our everyday lives, everybody faces ambition, from Athletes to future kings.

Macbeth for example, his aspiration was to become the king of Scotland, and lead the army he faught under for years. he was ambitious beyond all doubt. this was useful in the begginning when he was climbing the social ladder. this did turn into his own downfall towrads the end. Overall macbeth’s downfall was caused by his own ambitions. a little bit goes a long way as the saying goes.

Gattaca’s society was based around the ideology of perfection. This where being the same as everyone was accepted and encouraged. That overall goal was to form a perfect modern society. Where gene mutations are commonplace. If the gene mutations didn’t go according to plan, you would struggle to find your place in society. Take Vincent Morrow, he was wheelchair bound and had been for his life, he struggled in a society where perfection was everything. where if you didn’t meet the mark, they didn’t want to acknowledge you.

Ozymandious was ignorant and overambitious, he believed that he was the greatest king to ever rule, that no future king would be able to match his dynasty. He was ignorant to a point where he believed that he kingdom would outlast the marching of time. He even installed at statue of himself to further satisfy his ego and show what he achieved. Ozymandias was very overambitious as what he created eventually became ruins.

In the hit movie “Chasing great” it portrays the life of the highest capped all black – Ritchie McCaw ever since he began to play rugby for Kurow in his childhood, to having back to back world cup success. all of his coaches and supporters had commended his drive and ambition to best the best he can always without fail. Over his Career his ambition would of changing from wanted to be selected to join the wider All Blacks squad to wanting to captain the all blacks for the 2007 rugby world cup team. This was a major turning point for ritchie in his career, as he took the blame himself for the loss in the quarter finals.

Ambition can be beneficial or detrimental to any aspirations. Ambition causes the downfalls of empires and the creation of others. Even the reign of kings can be created or broken by ambition. It can be used to create a legacy many wont attempt to beat. Ambition shouldn’t be seen as a deterant to success only a motivator, just in manageable quantities.
